i want a lover i don't have to love

до чего я дошёл, я читаю английские фанфики
ну, зато это чертовски мило
мне нравится
запощу некоторые кусочки, уж больно нравятся
#10 - Drink
It takes three whiskeys before Richard admits to Door that, okay, the Marquis is...frankly, extremely attractive; he chokes on his fourth when she raises an eyebrow and comments, "You are aware he's wanted to bed you for months, yes?"
#20 - Talent
"What's your Talent, then?" joked Richard, "Seduction?"; the Marquis fixed him with an odd smile, and murmured, "would you like it to be?"
#23 - Fire
There was fire in the Marquis' eyes when he saved Richard, dragging Lamia back as she took his warmth, his life; Richard sees the same fire when the Marquis is leaning over him, the ends of his hair brushing Richard's bare shoulders, before he leans in and Richard burns with him.
#27 - Fall
They're far, far too high above the ground for Richard's liking, and he'd be hyperventilating right about now under any othercircumstance, but strong hands are tight on his shoulders, and a low voice is murmuring, "Do you really think I'd let you fall?"
#32 - Farewells
"You knew I'd be coming back, then?" Richard asked of the Marquis one lazy afternoon, after mulling the other man's lack of a farewell all those months ago; the Marquis gave a laconic smile and murmured, "Oh, I knew you couldn't stay away from me."
#40 - Whisper
There are whispers in the dark, as they walk through the wastes of Burnt Oak, and Richard is becoming more and more unsettled until the Marquis takes his hand, grounding him, leading him through the night.
#47 - Highway
Browsing the Market one day, Richard comes across a dog-eared paperback and chuckles quietly, touching the cover: "This was Jessica's favourite book, you know, Blackheart Highway - she used to re-read it almost constantly..."; the Marquis pulls a face, taking his hand and leading him firmly away from the stall and into the crowds.
#50 - Breathe
In the past 48 hours Richard has nearly died four times, nearly lost a limb twice, and once been attacked by an exceedingly angry parakeet; back at home, safe in their lodgings, away from a world that seems to have far too much excitement planned for him, he steps into the Marquis' arms and breathes, and breathes, and breathes.
